Strand Surf School

The Son-Surf School Strand was started in August 2003 by Andy Pitt and Mikhail Thompson. They carried the same vision of starting a surf school and positively impacting the world around them. They were also both part of the Son-Surf tribe. This naturally resulted in the birth of the first ever Son-surf School.

With the help of Roy Harley as the Son-Surf National Director and the generous once off donation from Quiksilver, the school got off to a flying start with some awesome equipment. The School has made a name for itself in the area and continues to impact and grow the surfers in the Boland.

No matter if you have never touched salt water before or if you’ve been surfing for 10 years, we will accomadate you and help you grow in your surfing.

• You will be coached by trained and accredited surfing instructors.
• They will help you to make the most of your first surfing experiences.
• Hours are flexible depending on when participants can make it.
• We try our best to fit in with your free time (even if that is 6 in the morning).
• All equipment is provided.
• We have the best boards and wetsuits of all shapes and sizes to meet your surfing needs.
