Andy Pitt, who heads up the Africa Chaplaincy program will be attempting a 8km paddle to rise funding for the chaplaincy program as well as funding to get himself to Bali where he is participating in leadership discussions with all the Continental Regional Chaplains from around the world.
“How I see it working”said Andy “is to do the paddle either on 3 or 10 July from Gordon’s bay to Strand. It’s about 8km’s and we’ll paddle behind the reefs. It should take about 5- 6 hours to do it. We’ll have a boat or two alongside us- some 4 or 5 guys doing the paddle. We’d appeal to people to sponsor us per km or a donation for the total leg. We’d use nice big Long boards for the paddle and obviously safety is paramount.”
